Fall 2023 Pre-registration Information for Students
Appointment Times (Walla Walla Times/PDT):
Where: Pre-registration will take place in your Portal (my.whitman.edu) under the Registration tab. Your Registration appointment time will be posted in the Registration Tab of your portal.
When: As shown below: You can access pre-registration starting at your appointment time through 8am the following day (exception noted below).

To Be Prepared:
Advisor Clearance: You MUST have your advisor’s electronic clearance to pre-register. Contact your advisor to request a meeting and request clearance. Those who do not have advisor clearance, will NOT be able to register (this is scary – don’t put yourself in that position).
Other Key Info:
Seat Capacities: Capacities will be updated by noon each day for classes reserving seats by class year.
Academic Overload: You may register for up to 18 academic credits and unlimited activity credits during Pre-registration. Students wishing to enroll in an academic overload (19-21 academic credits) must wait until the start of spring semester to add credits upon approval of an Academic Overload form.
Course Conflicts: To register for a class conflict, you must complete a Course Conflict Resolution form (available on the Registrar’s web page or in the Registrar’s Office). You will register for the conflicting class in the Registrar’s Office (MEM 212) as you will not be able to add the conflicting classes online.
Academic Evaluations/My Progress: You can view your Academic Evaluation online through the portal to confirm degree requirements.
Assistance During Pre-registration: The Registrar’s Office will be staffed during all Pre-registration appointment times. For assistance, you may use the “Live Chat” link on the Registration page, email registrar@whitman.edu.
Consent Only course approval and Prerequisite Waiver
You can contact the instructor or a course for assistance with the following:
- Authorization to enroll in a consent-only course.
- Getting a prerequisite waived.
You can confirm both consents and waivers in your Plan under Petitions & Waivers (there is no email notification) but will need to wait until your registration appointment time to Register.
Waitlists
If a course is full you can add yourself to the waitlist starting on Thursday April 27
